The Institute for Contemporary Studies of Nations (Iran-Eurica), as an independent think tank that has specialized in European and American Studies for more than ten years, has consistently sought not only to enhance the understanding of Iranian experts and policymakers regarding the United States and Europe, but also to provide a platform for dialogue and engagement with think tanks and research centers in Europe and the United States. Through such interactions, the Institute aims to contribute to a more accurate and realistic understanding of the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran among these institutions.
In line with this objective, and through the efforts and continued follow-up of the Institute’s management and members, as well as the participation and cooperation of the Faculty of World Studies, the First International Conference on European and American Studies was held on June 9 and 10, 2025, at the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran.
During this two-day conference, which featured the participation and presentations of a large number of international experts, as well as the involvement of a significant number of Iranian professors and experts, the most important issues and challenges between Iran and the West, along with potential areas for cooperation, were discussed and examined in 14 separate specialized panels.
The present volume contains the transcribed texts of the speeches delivered at this conference. These texts have been prepared with full adherence to established principles of writing and editing, while maintaining complete fidelity to the original presentations. Given the diversity of the participants and the wide range of topics examined, this volume provides a valuable collection addressing the existing issues and subjects concerning Iran and the West, and can serve as a highly useful resource for researchers, students, and others interested in this field.
