On Saturday, June 13, 2026, a meeting entitled “Examining the Impact of War on Energy Geopolitics and the Future Position of the Strait of Hormuz” was held, featuring presentations by Dr. Abbas Maleki (Professor of Energy Policy at Sharif University of Technology) and Dr. Behrouz Namdari (Director of Eastern Trade at the National Iranian Gas Company), with the participation of a group of experts from the Iran–Eurica Institute.
The meeting addressed issues such as global energy security, particularly in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz; the status of Iran’s exports of oil and gas products to East Asia and neighboring countries; and the state of energy technologies in Iran, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) and gas-to-liquids (GTL) technologies. It also explored questions concerning the future of energy security in the Strait of Hormuz, global energy prices, particularly oil and gas prices, and the position of the Strait of Hormuz as a major corridor for global energy transportation.
