On Sunday, 23 November 2025, a session entitled “Examining the Capacities for Iran–Europe Cooperation in the Energy Sector” was held with presentations by Dr. Behrouz Namdari (Head of the East Trade Department, International Affairs Division of the National Iranian Gas Company) and Dr. Ali Zolfi ( Deputy Director for Technical and Engineering Affairs at Pishran Persian Gulf Company ).
During this session, the transition from fossil fuels and issues related to international politics, the status of natural gas energy in Europe, domestic technical issues and challenges within the four companies affiliated with the Ministry of Petroleum, the status and possibility of Iran’s presence and entry into European energy markets and other markets around the world, the importance of oil and gas and the necessity of policymaking for the oil and gas sector in the country, as well as issues related to the political economy of energy in Iran, were examined.
