Following the series of online meetings concerning the Ukraine crisis and its international impacts, this session mainly focused on “The Impact of the Ukraine Crisis on the Competition of the Great Powers in the Middle East”. Andrey Kortunov, Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) will join this talk to discuss:
- the future of Russian and American presence in the region,
- the Iran nuclear deal and Great Powers policies,
- Iran-Russia relations in the region.
Andrey Kortunov is the director general of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). He has taught at universities around the world, including the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a member of expert and supervisory committees and boards of trustees of several Russian and international organizations. His academic interests include contemporary international relations and Russian foreign policy.
