The Empowerment of the Taliban and Scenarios before Iran

Shireen Hunter, Georgetown University Professor and life member of Council on Foreign Relations, engaged in a joint talk with Iran-Eurica’s experts to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan and the US and NATO withdrawal from the country. This online forum, which lasted over two hours, was held on August 22^nd under the topic “the Empowerment of the Taliban and Scenarios before Iran, regarding the US, Europe and NATO Foreign policy”. Khadijah Hojjati, European Department Expert at Iran-Eurica, opened the session by giving a presentation on the situation of Afghanistan and the complex and complicated issues with American and European foreign policies in this country. Later on, Dr. Hunter embarked on her views on the subject of the session. Of the subject been discussed the following were worth noting: a) the process ended in the empowerment of the Taliban, b) scenarios before Iran and the US, as well as the c) probable Iran-US bilateral policies in the light of the Taliban. The session continued with more discussion and talks between Shireen Hunter and Iran-Eurica’s experts on the subject matter and the related issues.
