Introduction:
Following previous meetings regarding the topic of Revival of JCPOA and Arms Control in the Middle East, this event went through the most recent analysis regarding the aforementioned topic.The session addressed the following issues:
a) the Role of the International Institutions and Regimes;
b) the Future of Negotiations on the Revival of JCPOA;
c) the Implications of Nuclear Deal Negotiations for Arms Race in the region.
Speakers:
Daniela Huber is the Head of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa Programme at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and an adjunct professor at Roma Tre University. She has written numerous books and articles on contemporary politics in the Middle East and EU and US foreign policy and their role in conflicts in the Middle East. She has also worked for the United Nations and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in the Middle East and has pursued extensive field research in the region.
Riccardo Alcaro is the Research Coordinator and Head of the Global Actors Programme at the Istituto Affari Internazionali. He has been a visiting fellow at the Center on the United States and Europe of the Brookings Institution in Washington and a fellow of the EU-wide program European Foreign and Security Policy Studies (EFSPS). He has extensively written on Iran’s nuclear negotiations, as well as transatlantic relations, with a particular focus on US and European policies in Europe’s surrounding regions.
In addition, political experts from the Iran-Eurica institute will join this event to discuss and share their views.
